President, Abraham Trading Company

Salem Abraham has been using quantitative models to trade global futures markets for over 25 years.  Salem began trading while attending Notre Dame, where he graduated cum laude with a B.B.A. in Finance in 1987.  In January of 1988, he began using his systematic approach to trade managed accounts.  He registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor in October 1988 and organized Abraham Trading Company in 1990.  Salem continues to lead the research efforts at Abraham Trading Company.

Salem has been featured in Michael Covel’s books The Complete Turtle Trader and Trend Following.  He has also appeared in Bloomberg Markets, Absolute Return, Barron’s, and the NY Times.

Salem is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and is a member of the National Futures Association.  He held full memberships at both the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Salem resides with his family in Canadian, Texas.  He is actively involved in improving education in Texas.

 
Shaun Jordan - Image Shaun Jordan
Director of Marketing (Austin Branch Manager)

Shaun is the Director of Marketing and the Austin Branch Manager at Abraham Trading Company.  He joined Abraham Trading in 2003.

Shaun graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Economics in 1991.  While at The University of Texas, he was a captain of the Swimming & Diving team, which won 4 consecutive NCAA National Championships.  He returned to The University of Texas at Austin for a MBA, which he received in 1997.

Prior to joining Abraham Trading Shaun operated a successful sports marketing company.  Shaun was a member of the 1988 and 1992 USA Olympic Swim Teams, where he won two Olympic Gold Medals as a member of the 400 freestyle relay.

Director of Research (Austin Branch)

Mark attended The University of Texas at Austin and graduated in May 1995 with a B.B.A. degree in Finance. Mark joined Abraham Trading in January 1995 while still attending school as Salem’s research assistant. 

Mark now develops research platforms and aids in developing, testing, and refining ATC’s trading methods.  Mark is the Director of Research for the Austin branch.

 
Barry Sims - Image Barry Sims
Director of Operations

Barry is the Director of Operations at Abraham Trading Company.  He has been with Abraham Trading Co. since 1995. 

Barry attended Texas Tech University from 1976 through 1979, and in 1980 began developing software for financial institutions. In 1992, Barry started his own information management and technology-consulting firm. In March 1995, Barry sold his consulting firm and joined Abraham Trading. 

Barry helped Abraham Trading become one of the first groups to automate order entry to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.  At one point Abraham Trading was trading 1% of the total volume of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Barry is registered with the CFTC as an associated person of Abraham Trading and is a member of the National Futures Association.

Research

Larry graduated from West Texas A&M University in 1993 with a B.B.A. degree in Finance. Larry joined Abraham Trading in 1995 and is responsible for overseeing the trading desk and improving execution and implementation of ATC’s trading strategies. 

Larry is registered with the CFTC as an associated person of Abraham Trading and is a member of the National Futures Association.

 
Andrew Zachary - Image Andrew Zachary

Andrew Zachary began his finance career as a Senior Strategist at LTCM, where he developed the firm’s fixed-income, equity derivative and stat arb models. He joined Abraham Trading from RGM Advisors in Austin, where he devised machine-learning models to trade high-frequency futures, equities and bonds.


Andrew graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics, then received his Ph.D in Astronomy and Astrophysics at U.C. Berkeley. Before he joined the financial world, he was a Post-Doctoral researcher in Astronomy at the University of Chicago and a consultant at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

 

 

 
Chris Barney - Image Chris Barney

Chris Barney joined the research department at Abraham Trading in 2008 to assist with development, testing, and refining of ATC's trading systems.

Chris graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1999 with a B.S. in Mathematics, and in 2002, earned a Masters degree from Kobe University, Japan, specializing in mathematical logic. During this time, he proved and published new results in the field of set theory, appearing in The Journal of Symbolic Logic.
